Accessible Information Standard eLearning course

The Accessible Information Standard (AIS) applies to all publicly funded adult social care service providers as well as health services. It sets out a requirement that these providers of services, and the people that work or volunteer within them, must communicate effectively with the people who use their services, specifically if they have a disability, impairment or sensory loss.

The AIS also covers the provision of information and services to meet people’s needs to ensure communications are clear and in a format, they can understand. In this course, we will explain what this means for you, your organisation and the people you support.

  • What is the Accessible Information Standard (AIS)?
  • Why do we need to know about the AIS?
  • Who does the AIS apply to?
  • Five steps of AIS
  • Providing accessible information
  • Relevant legislation
  • Impact on people who use social care services
This course has been designed specifically for people working in a social care setting, including managers, who want to know or who are required to know more about the Accessible Information Standard. It may also be useful to a wider audience of people who would like to know more about this subject.
This course will take 30 minutes to complete.

I found some of the questions very interesting, covered topics that have never been discussed before in training. They made me think and question myself, excellent course.
